Gracie Shepherd is willing to do almost anything to save her sick mother. Overworked and struggling with huge hospital bills, she turns to her wealthy and dangerous father, Dax Moroni, for help. But Dax never gives anything for free. He offers Gracie a way to pay for her mother’s treatment: get a job at Crown Pictures and secretly collect damaging information about its new president, Victor Corona.

There is one problem. Gracie has already met Victor under terrible circumstances at the Lux nightclub, where he saved her from a group of aggressive customers and then fired her after their encounter ended badly. Now she must convince the same cold, powerful man to hire her as his live-in assistant. Victor is controlling, demanding, and used to getting exactly what he wants.
