Fifteen years after being frozen inside Syncore, a powerful corporation that controls thousands of cryogenic prisoners, Grayson Cole suddenly wakes. He remembers almost nothing about how he got there, but the system identifies him as a convicted murderer serving an indefinite sentence. Even more frightening, Grayson discovers that his body has changed. He can move with impossible speed, interfere with electronics, hear hidden signals, and release strange blue energy from his hands.

While escaping Syncore’s enormous cryo facility, Grayson meets Lyra Lewis, an armed rebel who has broken into the building for a very different reason. Lyra leads a resistance against Syncore and has spent years searching for her mother, Georgina, a former company employee who was declared dead. Lyra believes Georgina is actually being held somewhere inside the corporation’s restricted laboratories. Grayson needs someone who understands this unfamiliar future, while Lyra needs someone powerful enough to help her enter places she could never reach alone. Their uneasy partnership begins with suspicion, threats, and secrets on both sides.

They hide inside Lyra’s underground bunker, surrounded by weapons, old technology, computer screens, and signal jammers. There, Grayson learns that fifteen years have passed and that he was accused of murdering his own brother, scientist Jayden Cole. But broken memories suggest that the official story may be false. As Grayson searches for answers, he realizes that his strange abilities are connected to an experimental project created inside Syncore.

Behind everything is Calder Harran, Syncore’s ruthless leader. Calder does not see Grayson as a man. He sees him as a successful prototype known as an Echo Host—something that can be studied, controlled, and turned into a weapon. Worse, Syncore can sometimes reach directly into Grayson’s mind and body, forcing him to fight the people he is trying to protect.

Across the dark futuristic city, hidden alleys, rooftops, laboratories, warehouses, cryo bays, and Lyra’s secret base, the pair are hunted by corporate guards and bounty hunters. At the same time, they repeatedly risk returning to Syncore to uncover what happened to Grayson, locate Georgina, and discover what the corporation has done to its other prisoners.

As Grayson and Lyra survive each new attack, their tense alliance slowly becomes something deeper. But trust is difficult when Grayson cannot trust his own memories—or even his own body. Together, they must uncover the secrets behind the experiments, confront painful connections between their families, and decide how much they are willing to risk to free the people trapped inside Syncore.
