Leslie Ferrer is a shy young woman who desperately needs a job. Her mother is seriously ill, and Leslie has no money for the expensive treatment she needs. Her search leads her to a powerful fashion company run by Margaret Ackroyd, a cold, elegant, and demanding woman who controls a luxury lingerie empire. From their first meeting, Margaret challenges Leslie’s limits and makes it clear that working for her will be anything but normal.

Leslie enters a world completely different from her simple life: luxury offices, private houses, expensive restaurants, fashion workshops, glamorous runway shows, and Margaret’s secret rooms. At first, Leslie is shocked by Margaret’s lifestyle and tries to keep her distance. But she also begins to notice something she has never understood about herself before.
